The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a non-competitive, personal challenge which works on developing skills, building self-belief and cultivate the resilience that pupils need to take on any challenge. The DofE award allows and supports young people to tap into their limitless potential. This award is tailored entirely around the young person’s ideas and dreams for future aspirations.

There are four sections to complete at bronze and silver level. This involves helping the community/environment, becoming fitter, developing new skills, planning, training for and completing an expedition.

At Sutton House Academy, Year 9 pupils will be completing their Bronze DofE Award and then throughout Year 10 and 11 pupils will complete their Silver.

Through the DofE award, we hope to foster positive relationships between pupils, improving their self-esteem, building their confidence, gaining essential skills and attributes for work and life.
